house on the water

industrial building with identity

Vonder realizes custom interior concepts through production and sale of home furnishings collections, which pay a great deal of attention to quality, craftsmanship and timelessness. After designing furniture and sales, Olthaar Ontwerpen created the overall design for the new headquarters; the factory, the showroom, offices, land and equipment.

Having a particular love for the craft and the environment inspired the design for Olthaar Design, which has been translated into the theme "House on the Water". The task was a factory, showroom and offices together in one building. The result is a building with a warm and timeless atmosphere and great symbolism in the spatial elements.

Production can be seen from the showroom and offices which provides an added value to potential customers. In view of sustainability a lot of attention has been given to the construction of this building. Thus, the industrial waste is recycled for heating various rooms, there is a saving on lighting - ensured a very high skylights and the required humidity in the manufacturing space has been created by applying a sculptural fountain.

There is also provision for greenery by planting trees. In quantitative terms substantial gains have been achieved in space occupation, including through shared work spaces.
